Location: Sterling, VA
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 9:00am-5:00pm
Compensation: $30.00/hr-$36.00/hr

Responsibilities:
Ledger Maintenance and Reconciliation

  • Prepare and process new journal entries, verifying they are properly documented and allocated.
  • Perform periodic reconciliations and upkeep for various GL accounts, such as bank accounts, funds paid in advance (prepaid expenses), and estimated liabilities (accrued liabilities).
  • Investigate and resolve any financial discrepancies identified within the GL accounts.
Financial Closing Processes
  • Provide support to ensure the accurate and timely finalization of monthly and annual closing activities.
  • Develop and analyze key financial statements (including the Income Statement and Balance Sheet) for review by management.
  • Confirm the proper entry of all required revenue deferrals and expense accruals.
Payables and Receivables Support
  • Assist with Accounts Payable activities, which includes processing vendor invoices and reconciling supplier accounts.
  • Aid in Accounts Receivable functions, such as customer billing and efforts related to debt collection.
Asset Management:
  • Manage the log of fixed assets, including documentation for asset purchases (acquisitions) and retirements (disposals).
  • Calculate and track the routine monthly depreciation expense.
Compliance and Reporting
  • Ensure the organization's adherence to all necessary reporting requirements and tax submissions mandated by federal, state, and local governments.
  • Generate requested financial analyses, budgets, and other reports for internal management.
  • Pinpoint areas where accounting workflow and processes can be streamlined for greater efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting
  • Knowledgeable on accounting systems such as QuickBooks or preferably Acumatica
  • attention to detail

  • willingness to learn

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $30.00 - $36.00 Per Hour
