Clean Harbors is seeking a Senior Diesel Mechanic to join our dedicated and safety-focused team As a Senior Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for overseeing daily shop operations, supervising maintenance work, ensuring fleet compliance with DOT regulations, and maintaining service and parts records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize Health and Safety by adhering to all policies, practices, and safety measures.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, conduct inspections, troubleshoot issues, and execute necessary repairs, including offsite road services.
  • Complete daily checklists to ensure proper unit operations.
  • Communicate any unit issues or problems immediately upon discovery.
  • Submit all necessary paperwork for tracking preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Conduct safety checks and annual vehicle inspections per governing laws.
  • Ensure correct parking of equipment in compliance with facility permits and DOT guidelines.
  • Maintain standards per Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure a clean work environment is upheld.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Understand and implement Clean Compliance Standards effectively.

What You Need to Join Clean Harbors:

  • 5-7 years of experience working with diesel engines.
  • At least 1 year of experience with DOT inspections.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge in various systems such as electrical, computer, ECMs, fuel, air systems, ABS, hydraulics, and engines.
  • Proficient in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty equipment, including forklifts, roll-off trucks, and tankers.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
  • Must pass background, drug, and physical tests upon hire.
