As an experienced architect, you will play a vital role in reshaping our core technology solutions, helping customers to embrace today and confidently pursue tomorrow.

Role overview:

As a Senior Data Architect within the Global Risk Solutions (GRS) data architecture team, you will play a pivotal leadership role at the forefront of our data and technology transformation initiatives. We are looking for a seasoned architect to co-lead the design and execution of modern data platform implementations that will enhance our enterprise data products. In this role, you will collaborate closely with leaders from the Data Office, Product Owners, and other technology teams to devise a comprehensive implementation strategy for GRS data platforms. Your insurance data knowledge and data technology expertise will be instrumental in enabling the organization to realize its future-state business capabilities and align with our target architecture.

About the role:
  1. Align Technology Strategy with Business Goals:

  • Create generational roadmaps that facilitate implementation planning toward a desired target state, simplifying our technology footprint while fulfilling business aspirations.
  1. Provide Technical Leadership:
  • Collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders-including business analysts, developers, and data scientists-to ensure seamless alignment between business needs and data solutions.
  • Offer technical leadership and direction to the development teams.
  • Advocate for the needs and perspectives of the GRS data architecture in shaping the broader North Star architecture, including Enterprise Architecture (EA) and GRS Domain Architecture.
  1. Enable Solution Delivery Teams:
  • Design a cohesive data architecture and robust data models that guarantee data quality, scalability, reliability, performance, and resilience. This encompasses effective data integration, warehousing, migration, and access strategies.
  • Develop conceptual and logical context diagrams alongside comprehensive narratives to illustrate the interactions of enterprise, domain, and segment platforms.
  • Present architectural runways during Program Increments, guiding solution delivery teams through the implementation process.
  • Provide mentorship and education on data solution architecture to all stakeholders engaged in GRS data initiatives.

  1. Govern Solutions for Evolving Business Needs:
  • Ensure solutions adhere to established enterprise patterns and address any needs for the evolution of these patterns.
  • Document and communicate architectural decision records to track solution enablement and identify technical debt.
  • Conduct regular reviews of data domain platforms and products to monitor evolving risks, escalating costs, and the current business value.
  • Champion data governance best practices to ensure compliance in solution designs.

  1. Steer Innovation:
  • Collaborate with enterprise teams to evaluate new data technologies, frameworks, and tools, ensuring we stay current with industry trends.
  • Identify emerging trends and patterns that can be leveraged to improve solutions within Liberty Mutual's ecosystem.
  • Partner with technology vendors to understand product capabilities and propose use cases for new features relevant to Liberty Mutual implementations.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in software development, with minimum 10 years in Insurance industry
