Description
  • Conduct thorough evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics through standardized tests and observational assessments.
  • Craft individualized treatment plans targeting both immediate goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing necessities.
  • Deliver comprehensive one-on-one speech therapy sessions emphasizing language, fluency, voice, and swallowing enhancements.
  • Collaborate effectively with physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, care providers, and families to foster unified care strategies.
  • Provide educational resources for patients and families to encourage progress in between clinical visits.
  • Occasionally conduct inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure continuity of care throughout the patient's journey.
  • Maintain precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Stay informed about industry advancements through regular continuing education and collaborative peer engagement.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • Valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification necessary within 30 days of starting the position.
Skills
  • Expert knowledge of evidence-based treatment strategies applicable to all age groups, coupled with a solid understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Versatile in adapting treatment techniques to cater to various cultural and linguistic needs.
  • Strong clinical judgment paired with effective problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation standards.
