The Role of a Special Education School Van Operator: You will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, conducting pre-trip inspections, ensuring child safety, and adhering to all DOT regulations.

Qualifications:

  • At least three (3) years of driving experience with a clean record (no gaps and no more than 1 moving violation).

  • No DUIs or DWIs on your driving record.

  • Must pass a Department of Transportation physical.

  • Background checks and drug screens are mandatory.

  • Applicants must be at least 23 years old.

  • Valid driver’s license is required.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Undergoing training at $18.00/hour

  • Safely transporting students to school and activities

  • Ensuring timely arrival at all destinations

  • Performing thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections

  • Conducting child safety checks after each route

  • Utilizing navigation tools for efficient routing

  • Maintaining a clean, fueled, and well-kept vehicle

  • Keeping accurate mileage and maintenance logs

  • Interacting professionally with students, parents, and staff

  • Executing additional duties as required
