About The Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: Permanent Shift: Day, Evening Hours per Shift: 37.5 hours per week Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: BSN required Certifications: ACLS, NRP, Preferred RN-C Must-Have: Flu vaccine required; no exemptions or exceptions. Nurses will perform full assessments. Experience working with high-risk patients is mandatory. Strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment is essential. Description: The unit has a total of 14 beds. Five beds are designated for triage/inpatient care. There are six labor beds and two operating room beds. Nurses are expected to scrub in for C-sections. High-risk obstetric patients will be managed on this unit. Low-risk antepartum patients will be handled on the obstetrics side. Patients on magnesium will be admitted to this unit. Nurse aides and surgical technicians assist staff. Charge nurses will not take on patient assignments. Staff is required to work every third weekend and three weekend shifts within a four-week period. Holiday shifts will not be assigned to travelers. The hospital provides scrub colors for staff. A hospitalist or intensivist will be onsite for 24/7 coverage. IV and pharmacy services are available 24/7. Nurses may be assigned to float in other areas but will not take on patient assignments outside their primary unit. Common diagnoses include high-risk obstetric cases and surgical interventions. Staff members should be committed to providing excellent customer service. Nurses will manage their own examinations and cannot insert intrauterine pressure catheters.
