Job Summary

The Patient Care Technician provides direct, hands-on support to patients while working under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This role is responsible for accurate documentation, monitoring dialysis treatment parameters, and assisting with pre- and post-treatment assessments. The technician also responds to changing patient conditions and actively supports emergency procedures as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
  • Accurately document information related to patient treatment.
  • Assist licensed nurses with pre- and post-dialysis assessments and required documentation.
  • Monitor and record dialysis treatment parameters on Dialysis Flow Sheets.
  • Report significant patient condition changes to the supervisor.
  • Assist with all emergency operational procedures.
  • Initiate basic CPR measures during cardiac and/or pulmonary arrest.
  • Respond to emergency situations related to dialysis treatment.
Required Experience
  • Successfully complete a training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis.
  • Successfully complete CPR Certification.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
Nice-to-Have Experience
  • Previous patient care experience in a hospital or related facility.
  • Education in physical sciences or laboratory techniques.
