Join our dedicated team at the Crisis Recovery Center, where we provide 24/7 mental health support to those in need. We are seeking committed on-call team members to serve as Crisis Services Technicians. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of our expanding services at the DuPage County Health Department
Located at our Crisis Recovery Center on the DuPage County Campus in Wheaton, we aim to deliver exemplary care with prompt response times. In this on-call position, you will be expected to work at least three (3) shifts per month, with availability during evenings and weekends, and work no more than 1000 hours annually. We offer competitive shift differentials of $2.00 per hour for second shifts and $2.50 for overnight shifts.
Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for clients utilizing services in our Substance Use Stabilization Unit, Adult Mental Health Unit, and Youth Mental Health Unit, including Crisis Residential.
- Facilitate client safety and quality care through regular client rounding and belongings checks.
- Assist with monitoring client medication within crisis programming as needed.
- Conduct tasks related to maintaining high environmental standards in crisis settings.
- Engage with clients and collaborate with team members to assist in de-escalating mental health crises.
- Complete necessary documentation within established timeframes, utilizing an Electronic Client Record.
- Participate in team meetings to evaluate and support client progress.
- Involve in emergency response activities as assigned.
Requirements
To qualify, candidates must possess a valid State of Illinois driver’s license and maintain a good driving record. New employees will undergo paid on-site HR New Hire Orientation at our Central Public Health Center in Wheaton, typically during the day shift from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm for one week. Additionally, candidates must have flexibility to complete two weeks of day shift training onsite at the Crisis Recovery Center.
Applicants must be at least 21 years old. Experience is preferred but not mandatory.
