About the Team

The Multifamily Data & Reporting team builds and maintains the core database environment that supports the Multifamily business unit. The team hydrates data from multiple source systems into a secure, structured enterprise database and delivers data to downstream consumers. The group operates as a Scrum team of 8-9 members, including a Product Owner, Tech Lead, Analysts, Developers, and Testers.

Role Overview

The Business Analyst will support the Scrum team by gathering functional requirements, conducting data analysis, writing technical specifications for developers, and performing user acceptance testing (UAT). The role may also include occasional GUI requirements work. This is a highly collaborative position requiring strong communication skills, analytical ability, and familiarity with Agile/Scrum practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather, analyze, and document functional business requirements.
  • Conduct data analysis and translate business needs into detailed technical specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with developers to ensure accurate implementation of requirements.
  • Perform user acceptance testing after development completion.
  • Communicate clearly with both business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Work efficiently within an Agile/Scrum development environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong SQL and data querying abilities.
  • Experience with database design, data management, or data warehousing concepts.
  • Ability to write clear, precise technical specifications.
Domain Knowledge
  • Understanding of mortgage finance data (preferred but not required).
Soft Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    Ability to learn quickly and operate independently.
    Team player with experience working in Scrum or Agile environments.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of SDLC methodologies.
  • Familiarity with requirements tools (e.g., Rational Requisite Pro).
  • Prior supervisory experience not required.
  • Financial industry experience preferred.
