Pay: $40.40 - $56.56 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.

Summary: As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality sonographic examinations in accordance with standard practices and the mission of our organization. Your expertise will ensure positive patient experiences and accurate diagnostic information.

Responsibilities:

  • Review patient history, physician's orders, and manage scheduling.
  • Educate patients about procedures and equipment to facilitate their understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications as required and within the scope of practice.
  • Continually monitor patient conditions and report any changes appropriately.
  • Prepare equipment and select appropriate imaging parameters.
  • Implement safety standards and conduct quality control on all equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and initiate necessary reports.
  • Position patients accurately and perform sonographic procedures.
  • Analyze imaging results to resolve quality issues, which may involve repositioning and repeating procedures.
  • Document and report scan results efficiently and accurately.
  • May mentor and train Radiology students.
  • Utilize critical thinking and decisive judgment in a fast-paced environment, working independently.

Requirements:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.
  • Licensure/Certification: Must be registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), or certified in Sonography (S) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). State licensure is required where applicable. Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience: None required.
  • BLS certification must be current with documentation needed prior to start date.
