Tax Accountant/Audit Senior | CPA | Roanoke, VA

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Audit Partner to ensure appropriate procedures are performed for each engagement
  • Assist in governmental audit fieldwork and testing compliance with GAAP and auditing standards
  • Prepare individual tax returns including sole proprietorships (Schedule C), not-for-profit returns (Form 990), and partnership returns
  • Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals, small businesses, and partnerships
  • Perform monthly bookkeeping responsibilities for a variety of local businesses and not-for-profits using QuickBooks
  • Prepare and review financial statements for clients
  • Provide advisory services to clients on tax planning and compliance matters
Qualifications
  • Active CPA license required
  • Minimum 5 years of tax and/or audit experience in public accounting
  • Strong financial statement preparation and analysis skills
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and bookkeeping functions
  • Experience with individual, partnership, and not-for-profit tax returns
  • Knowledge of GAAP and auditing standards
  • Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple engagements
