Job Description
Harrington Group, Certified Public Accountants, LLP is a public accounting and consulting firm that focuses solely to nonprofit organizations. We are seeking a Tax Preparer to join our tax team and who enjoys working in a collaborative fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Primarily focusing on the Preparation of 990 federal and state tax/information returns and preparation of amended returns as needed.
- Reviews tax and financial information provided by clients and works with clients to gather necessary information/documents for tax return completion and compliance. Auditing for thoroughness and more.
- Possesses knowledge of tax regulations.
- Communicates status of work and issues with supervisors, or partners on a timely basis
- Assists with client tax questions, and works with clients to maintain a good, professional working relationship.
- Ensure the confidentiality of each client by following all company procedures regarding information handling
- Completes research and other special assignments/tasks as needed.
- Plug in applicable data into Tax software application.
- Participate in other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- At least 1+ years of relevant work experience in Tax Preparation, Form 990 focused preferred.
- Ability to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Familiarity with tax software and technology
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
- Excellent analytical, organizational and project management skills.
- Enrolled Agent a plus, but not required.
