POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Maintenance Superintendent, this position maintains and repairs machinery and equipment. This position requires a high level of problem-solving skills and mechanical troubleshooting abilities. Experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, automation, and maintenance is necessary. In this role, your key responsibilities will be to organize and oversee a team of technicians actively involved in various technical specialties. The job entails instructing and offering guidance while also being actively involved in one or more of the maintenance activities. Additional responsibilities include planning, overseeing, and working with outside contractors, and vendors; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- High school education or equivalent. Technical training in related field preferred but not necessary.
- Three years welding and mechanical machinery maintenance experience required.
- Advanced Working knowledge of industrial electricity preferred.
- Experience with Allen Bradley Compact Logix PLC Controls including ability to troubleshoot process control ladder logic.
- Experience troubleshooting Allen Bradley Variable Frequency Drives.
- Requires good reading, writing and mathematical skills.
- Must be able to read, speak and write to be able to understand basic instructions and communicate with supervisors and peers effectively. Spanish is a plus.
- Requires ability to assist with calculations, projections and applications for fabrication and layout.
- Ability to use and operate a personal computer, spreadsheet and word processing software, copier, company terminal, calculator, and any other office equipment required to perform duties
- Ability to operate forklift, man lift, scissor lift, drill press, welders, angle grinders, digital volt meters and any other equipment required to perform duties.
- Ability to work at elevations as high as 100 feet.
- Valid Driver's License to operate company vehicle for picking up parts.
- Predictable and Regular attendance is required. Must be able to work weekends and overtime as needed.
- Standing, walking, sitting, talking/listening, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, climbing ladders, reaching with hands and arms, and lifting up-to 100 pounds.
- Working in different shifts either rotating or permanent.
- Ability to work at elevations as high as 100 feet.
- Plant environment with moderate to loud noise, moving and vibrating machinery, dusty, dirty, fumes and/or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, hot and cold (non-weather) conditions.
- Wear mandatory and/or other appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
Salary Range $23.00 - $25.00 /hr. DOE
