Company Description

As a Director of Process Automation & AI, you will transform processes across the company by leading an organized, problem-solving approach and collaborating with business partners to continuously improve performance. You will work with other senior leaders to ensure the successful realization of business, financial, and operational outcomes. The scope of this role will include managing a team and overseeing process excellence initiatives, automation programs, reporting projects, and AI initiatives.

Directs the execution of scalable process automation solutions using RPA frameworks and tools. Engages with stakeholders to perform analysis of existing process flows and develop a roadmap for strategic development and ROI. Ensures efficient utilization of RPA tools (UiPath, Blue Prism, Workfusion, Automation Anywhere) to deliver reusable automation components. Leads the deployment of solutions and the creation of analytics to provide insights into the benefits of RPA to business leaders and users. Develops project governance and risk management standards for automation. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require certification in RPA vendor-specific tools, AI proficiencies, and/or Six Sigma/Lean methodologies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing strategies and recommendations to lead process improvement, measurable business benefits, and ROI.
  • Assisting with all aspects of the diagnostic, design, and implementation stages by proactively partnering with cross-functional teams to simplify processes, provide guidance and expertise, and manage process change.
Facilitating training and workshops, including assessing the organization's readiness for change; managing expectations; adjusting the approach so that positive change is adopted by all business partners and stakeholders.
  • Managing the RPA Center of Excellence by providing education, best practices, standards, and resources to deliver successful programs.
  • Developing and managing the Change Control Board across the company's systems and processes.
  • Developing initiatives and processes for automation to drive business outcomes by analyzing data and evaluating key business components to assess current performance baselines, identifying gaps, opportunities, and improvements for automation.
  • Identifying operational performance KPIs and creating corresponding analytics to track the business impact of each of your team's initiatives.
  • Building a business-aligned reporting team that can support the business by developing critical KPIs and dashboards, proactive reporting on trends and issues, and responsiveness to ad-hoc reporting requests.
Lead and implement dashboards for process performance indicators for enterprise processes to create transparency & data-driven decisions.
  • Ensuring your team follows a consistent methodology to define process deliverables, define success criteria and measure value.
  • Managing the project portfolio and developing a methodology to prioritize business process automation and simplification projects with senior stakeholders, including defining value, productivity, ROI, and cost savings metrics.
  • Supporting senior leadership by developing critical leadership updates, managing risks and issues and deploying resources in alignment with corporate goals.
  • Achieving measurable positive business outcomes.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Product management specializing in the development of digital/software-based products and technology-based solutions preferred.
  • Strong digital product and technology acumen with a proven track record of defining and delivering successful digital project portfolios.
  • Experience with next generation architectural concepts, including Integrations, process automation, Low-no-code, etc.
  • Experience in current and trending Intelligent Automation development platforms and methodologies.
  • Experience, exposure, and knowledge of primary cloud provider offerings and architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with Benefits Administration or Healthcare related business process domains, such as R&D, Information Technology, Operations, Supply Chain, Corporate Activities, or Channel Management.
  • Strong interest data and software development as key enablers of corporate performance.
  • Highly motivated, decisive, and results-oriented individual with the flexibility and creativity to excel in a rapidly growing and changing environment.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field.
  • 8-10+ years of experience in improvement roles with deep expertise in the implementation of improvements at the operations level.
  • 5+ years of experience of leading process excellence and automation teams.
  • 5+ years of experience managing large and medium-scale transformational projects in complex environments.
  • 3 - 5 years' people management experience with demonstrated ability to collaborate, build relationships, coach, inspire, and motivate others.
  • Proven track record of driving change through influence and leading cross-functional teams through ambiguity.
  • Prior experience of setting up a Centre of Excellence for Lean or process automation.
  • Experience in thought leadership and championing the implementation of new ideas.
  • Strong experience with process automation, data analytics, Robotics Process Automation (RPA), Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI), especially planning and implementation of solutions like UiPath, Power Automate. Experience using and deploying ChatGPT & Co-Pilot and other AI tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in and strong knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma. Black Belt considered an asset.

Other complimentary CI Certifications such as Scrum, PMP, Change Management, etc. are considered an asset.

Proficiency in Visio, Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. Familiarity with Microsoft Project a plus.
