The Grand Forks County Tax Equalization Department is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Real Estate Tax Assistant to support the county's property assessment and tax administration functions. This position performs clerical, technical, and administrative duties related to maintaining accurate real estate records, assisting with property valuations, and providing excellent service to the public.

Starting Rate: $22.73 (DOE)

Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree in related field or equivalent experience and one (1) year related experience, or any combination of equivalent education and experience. Incumbent must obtain a Class 1 Assessor's Certificate within 2 years. Must maintain a valid Driver's License, annual certification from Department of State, and Class 1 Assessor Certificate by completing twenty hours of approved classroom instruction or seminars during the term of the Certificate.

Status and Hours: Full-time, benefit eligible. Based on a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday. Due to the nature of this position, there might be a variation in working hours and days to support the department and County needs. This position is not eligible for telework.

County Employment Perks: While employed at Grand Forks County, a generous number of paid holidays, paid time off, benefits, and retirement. Grand Forks County participates in NDPERS Retirement. For employees hired on or after January 1,2025, you will be enrolled in the Defined Compensation 2025 plan (DC25) at the rate of 9.26% of your gross salary. The County contributes 7.26% and the Employee contributes 2%, with an option for an additional 3% employee contribution and County match.
