Description

The National Airspace Systems Integration Support (NISC) program at Leidos is looking for experienced Senior Electronics Engineering Specialists to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Eastern Service Area - Engineering Services. This role is critical in the effort to modernize telecommunications in the National Airspace System, enabling better connectivity and functionality.

The primary focus will include Small Tower Voice Switches, Telecommunications Infrastructure Replacement, Air to Ground Protocol Converters, and NEXCOM Radios. As a design-centric position, you will play an essential role in the enhancement of Voice Switches for the Air Traffic Control System across the Eastern United States.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate existing site surveys to outline site preparation scope of work.
  • Conduct on-site inspections at various remote locations to assess site readiness.
  • Create detailed site preparation documentation based on survey and facility analysis.
    • Identify necessary Contract Line-Item Numbers (CLINs) for project completion.
    • Develop cost estimates for site preparation efforts.
  • Review contractor proposals to ensure adherence to project specifications.
  • Generate Operational Risk Management Pre-Requisite Programs for the installation process.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders on risk mitigation strategies during implementation.
  • Schedule and coordinate site preparation activities with contractors and stakeholders.
  • Oversee contractor execution of site prep and installation tasks.
  • Prepare periodic status updates on project progress.
  • Maintain and update Corporate Work Plan (CWP) records.
  • Revise facility drawings to reflect current project statuses.

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Electronics Engineering with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Willingness to travel over 50% of the time.
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust Suitability; candidates must be U.S. Citizens or permanent residents who have lived in the U.S. for the past 3 years.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or other design software.
  • Familiarity with National Electric Code (NEC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.
  • Understanding of OSHA standards and general safety protocols in construction and electrical work.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with National Airspace (NAS) facilities including ASR, ATCT, VOR, ARSR, RCAG.
  • Knowledge of National Airspace System Equipment Building (NASEB) standards.
  • Understanding of Corporate Work Plan (CWP) 4.1.12 regulations.

Pay Range: $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
