MedStar Health is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team at MHPT @ Loch Raven - Ortho & Hand. We aim to find a professional with comprehensive skills in occupational therapy, who can independently utilize varied evaluation and treatment approaches, and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for delivering exceptional occupational therapy services to patients, including screening and evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, reassessment, and discharge planning along with detailed documentation. You will also participate in program planning and protocol development, supporting the team in achieving established goals.

Primary Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluation services including reviewing historical information, performing assessments, and documenting results while explaining findings and treatment plans to patients and families.
- Implement treatment protocols proficiently based on evaluation findings and patient presentation, consulting with healthcare professionals as needed, and recognizing changes in patient's condition to modify care plans accordingly.
- Manage discharge planning and follow-up care, ensuring that all patient care activities are accurately documented and charged, illustrating a clear course of care.
- Exhibit effective time management skills and maintain productivity expectations while managing an accurate schedule that ensures seamless patient access to care.
- Pursue continuing education for professional growth and competency, serve as a clinical instructor for students, and assist in mentoring new staff and volunteers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Current licensure in Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia as required for your specific location(s).
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association.
This position has a hiring range of: USD $72,758.00 - USD $130,041.00 /Yr.
