Senior Engineering Manager Embedded Controls and Firmware for Equipment Software

The impact you'll make
Responsibilities may include a combination of the following:
Hardware Development: Directs, leads, and manages the technical activities of a hardware development function for electronic design, mechanical design, and/or hardware reliability.
Software Development: Directs, leads, and manages the technical activities of a software development function for software systems, applications, and/or software quality assurance.
Systems Design: Directs, leads, and manages the technical activities of an integrated hardware/software systems design function.
What you'll do
- Lead a team focused on hardware/firmware and corresponding low-level software for multiple Lam products.
- Manage product release lifecycle for these hardware/software products. This includes the management of new customer requirements as well as solutions for problem areas. For hardware this includes obsolescence.
- Communicate with internal and external customers. This includes release dates and technical information.
- Work in cross-functional teams throughout our global organization.
- Employee management.
- Manages software for low-level hardware for Lam's on equipment.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer science, Computer Engineering, Electronics, or related field with 7+ years of industry experience and 6 - 8 years of management experience.
- At least 5 years of experience leading an embedded software team in the semiconductor field.
- At least 10 years of semiconductor equipment experience.
- Deep understanding of Controls, Firmware, and corresponding low level Software developments.
- Expert in C/C++ and deep understanding of Realtime operating systems.
- Working experience with Sensor Bus technologies (e.g., EtherCAT, DeviceNet).
- Familiarity with board design and FW development.
- Very strong communication skills and high standard of presentations.
- Strong analytical approach to root cause analysis.
- Business travel required.
Preferred qualifications
Advanced degree preferred.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.

Salary
CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $140,000.00 - $302,000.00.
The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
