Data Protection Engineer

Tier4 Group is hiring a full-time Technical Services Engineer to own backup, restore, and resiliency outcomes across our MSP client base. This role leads Veeam Backup & Replication delivery, designs 3-2-1 architectures, builds immutable off-site copies, executes recovery testing, and drives incident response. You'll work closely with engineering on L2/L3 server and platform issues, including patch cycles and maintenance coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage backup/restore health, DR readiness, and client communication
- Design, configure, and tune Veeam (SOBR, replication, Instant Recovery, SureBackup)
- Build immutable off-site tiers and maintain compliance reporting
- Execute recovery drills and maintain DR runbooks
- Automate deployments and reporting (PowerShell/API)
- Support server patching/maintenance windows and protect backup integrity
- Enforce security standards (RBAC, MFA, encryption) and maintain audit evidence
What You Bring
- 2+ years in an MSP role focused on backup/DR and Windows Server
- Deep Veeam experience (VMCE a plus)
- Knowledge of virtualization (Hyper-V; VMware helpful), storage, networking basics
- PowerShell automation skills and strong documentation/communication
