Experience: Minimum of 2 to 3 years of cardiac surgery experience
License: New Jersey License or compact license required
Certifications: NCCPA Certification required

Must-Have:
Fully proficient in endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH)
Available to start immediately
Experience with Cerner EMR preferred

Description:
Urgently seeking Physician Assistants for Cardiothoracic Surgery coverage.
The practice setting is inpatient and hospital-based.
Average number of patients per day includes operating on 2 patients, rounding on 5 to 12 patients per day in ICU and on the floor, which includes consults.
Schedule includes weekday, weekend, and night call coverage.
Weekday shifts are Monday to Friday, consisting of 8 to 10-hour in-house days.
Night call starts at 6 PM and ends at 6 AM.
Weekend call starts Friday at 6 PM through Monday at 6 AM, with rounding from 7 AM to 12 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
Required procedures include retrieval of vascular tissues for use as a bypass conduit, endoscopic retrieval, chest tube insertions, and serving as first assist in the operating room for cardiac surgery.
Duties involve rounding, coordination of care, assisting in surgery, diagnosing and treating illnesses, ordering and interpreting tests, and writing prescriptions.
Suture removal is also a part of the responsibilities.
Estimated credentialing timeframe is 60 days.
Mileage and tolls are the only reimbursements, and lodging will be accepted for the right candidate.
The provider must function in the operating room, perform EVH, and actively participate in operative cases.
