Join our dynamic team in Charlotte, NC, and take on a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinical laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical operations of a specific laboratory section, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures, and supporting the Lab Director/Manager.

Duties

  • Manage the implementation and maintenance of quality, efficiency, and safety standards in the section, ensuring compliance with CAP standards.
  • Communicate deficiencies, test development progress, team member actions, and unusual occurrences to leadership.
  • Demonstrate initiative in tracking and resolving problems, continually checking the accuracy of test methods and instruments.
  • Review laboratory reports, including reference laboratory reports, for extraordinary results and clerical errors before reporting to the medical record.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of materials and participate in cost analysis of existing and prospective tests.
  • Complete orientation and training within the section.
  • Assign schedules and work for the section, assisting in workload evaluations as needed.
  • Delegate authority and responsibility appropriately, ensuring timely completion and reporting of assigned work.
  • Function as a bench technologist, assisting with the workload when needed.
Physical Requirements

Work in a fast-paced clinical environment that contains biohazardous materials along with chemical, fire, and mechanical hazards. Duties may involve standing, walking, stretching, stooping, bending, and lifting light (20 pound) to moderately heavy (50 pound) loads.

Skills
  • Certification in MT(ASCP), or MLS(ASCP), or HTL(ASCP), CT(ASCP) or equivalent with two years of experience in a specific laboratory section required.
