Hospital: This state-of-the-art facility opened in 2008 and is currently in the midst of a $247 million expansion of facilities and services with an anticipated completion date in the fall of 2019. The project will include a new patient tower (bringing the number of beds to over 300), a new 63,000 square-foot complex with clinics, emergency department and outpatient surgery center, as well as additional clinics throughout NW Arkansas. Among the achievements received by the hospital are the Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval in both hip and knee joint replacement, designated as a Chest Pain Center, and was named "Most Wired" by the AHA.
Opportunity: The director, reporting to the Executive Director of Nursing, is responsible for administrative and operational oversight of an 18-room LDRP (1,800 births annually), 20-bed medical unit (women's surgical & pediatrics) and eight bay NICU (Level III). Upon completion of the expansion, capacity will essentially double. Total staff complement is approximately 70 and is anticipated to continue growing. The medical staff is predominately integrated and they are planning to start an OB hospitalists program.
Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate is one who has great communication skills, works well with physicians and co-workers, is a visible leader, is patient-centered and has the ability to lead women's & children's services through the growth in volumes and capacity. A minimum of five years of previous management experience in a similar setting is required. Prior NICU knowledge is highly desirable. A BSN is required, with a Master's preferred.
