Process Engineer I
Reports to
Plant Manager
Summary/Objective
The Process Engineer is responsible for analyzing quality assurance processes and sequences, recommends and implements improvement projects on site or for business unit, and may act as a respective Project Leader. The Process Engineer is the liaison with other engineering functions, operations, quality, and/or external vendors or service providers. The Process Engineer is responsible for overall ramp-up phase and ensures process documentation.

1.Establish robust and effective processes with the appropriate measures of control to include but not limited to gathering KPI's and reporting them to management.
2. Ability to train new and existing personnel for using any new/improved processes.
3. Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to ensure processes stay current based upon any industry standards updates. Gather suggestions and input from all team members for continuous process improvement.
4. Provide shop floor support on process and quality issues. Provide leadership in coordinating resolutions with other internal functions. (Quality, SCM, Engineering, Sales etc.)
5.Audit work areas to ensure adherence to written processes. Develop CAR/PAR system in which to report any deviations.
6.Investigate customer complaints. Verify root cause, implement, and communicate corrective actions to all teams as appropriate.
7.Support or assist in audit activities (internal quality, 5S, safety, customer and governing agencies, etc.) during evaluation of NYAB whether external or internal.
8.Perform hazardous waste management duties as required. Complete annual hazardous waste management and Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Ground Shipper training (every three years).
9.Must understand and be able to support all quality, product safety, and HSE rules and regulations and policies
10. Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
11. Must understand, support and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.
12. Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree

1. Excellent mechanical aptitude
- Excellent troubleshooting skills

- Good leadership and teamwork skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Basic SAP knowledge
- Working knowledge of CMMI and ISO standards
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
The employee will be required to perform duties on a computer terminal. The employee will spend significant time on the shop floor and exposed to conditions such as noise, heat, cold, dust, dirt etc.
Physical Demands
The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of an office and shop floor work environment.

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Watertown is $65,100 to $97,700 per year. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry and education. New York Air Brake is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations. Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, employees (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, vision, and basic life and disability insurance. Employees also will be able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Employees will also receive 120 hours of vacation leave and 40 hours of Personal Paid Absence every year. Employees will also enjoy 12 paid holidays, and 1 floating holiday throughout the calendar year, subject to relevant terms outlined in the employee handbook. 6 weeks of paid parental leave will also be available for use. Requirements for these benefits will be controlled by applicable plan documents and policies. Employees working on federal contracts covered by the Federal Paid Sick Leave requirements will be notified and will receive benefits consistent and compliant with the FPSL requirements. Hired applicant will be able to purchase company stock, subject to the relevant plan documents and annual bonuses based on achievement of certain metrics of up to 4% of annual salary.
