Investigate and maintains complex casualty claims. Determines liability, secures information, reviews coverages, arranges appraisals, and settles claims.

This role investigates and maintains auto claims.Investigate and finalizes coverage and liability, develops damages and settles claims.

This position will be seated in a Sentry office location, or in the Alpharetta, GA or Tampa, FL area.

What You'll Do:

  • Investigate origin and cause of claims by contacting the appropriate parties including insureds, claimants,witnesses, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, special investigation unit, other adjusters, public personnel, etc.

  • Handle both 1st party and 3rd party bodily injury claims under multiple policy types and numerous endorsements.

  • Respond to customer inquiries, makes appropriate decisions, and closes file as needed.

  • Interpret and determine policies, leases, by-laws, declarations, articles, and contract coverages and applies to all parties for assigned losses.

  • Make independent decisions and self-supervise most files and recognize when assistance is needed.

  • Proactively provides all parties with claim process and status as appropriate; answer questions or redirect to other areas.

  • Identify complex issues and seek assistance as needed. Handles claims on a good faith basis.

  • Evaluate bodily injury damages and handles claim negotiations with insureds, claimants, attorneys, public adjusters.

  • Serve as a mentor and subject matter expert for less experienced adjusters.

  • May be required to complete other assignments, job duties, or participate in projects based upon skills, achievements, or experience.

What it Takes:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum 1 year of related work experience, insurance experience and/or coursework preferred

  • Ability to review detailed documents, insurance policies, coverages, medical terminology, and insurance regulations

  • Ability to make appropriate claims decisions, prioritize, and manage workload

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Technology aptitude

  • Demonstrated fundamental negotiation skills

  • Ability to travel as necessary to satisfactorily complete their job responsibilities as assigned
