This community hospital in Southeastern Colorado is seeking a Nurse Manager Med Surg for an exceptional opportunity to lead a skilled and supportive team in the Medical/Surgical Unit, SCU, and Infusion Center. The Nurse Manager Med Surg will join a Community Medical Center known for its patient-centered approach and commitment to excellence. The Nurse Manager Med Surg reports directly to the Chief Clinical Officer and will work closely with the nursing team, ancillary support services, and other department leaders to maintain smooth operations. This role provides leadership to a team of 23-25 FTEs, ensuring professional growth, clinical excellence, and strong collaboration across the department.
The Nurse Manager Med Surg will oversee a unit staffed for up to 14 Med Surg patients and 2 SCU beds. The team is tight-knit and professional, with a focus on delivering safe, compassionate care. This position allows for hands-on engagement with patients while supporting a family-like culture and mentoring newly licensed RNs joining the team.
The Nurse Manager Med Surg is responsible for leading and developing nursing staff, promoting clinical competencies, and ensuring compliance with patient safety and quality standards. Administrative duties include staffing, scheduling, hiring, conducting annual reviews, and maintaining operations, while providing guidance and support in patient care when needed.
