Hours: 40 guaranteed/week

Department: Pathology - GMC

Description:
A hospital is seeking an experienced Travel Histotechnologist for a 12-week assignment in the Pathology Department. The technologist will process tissue specimens, prepare slides, and perform staining procedures to support diagnostic pathology.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years pathology laboratory experience

  • Certifications: ASCP HT/HTL required

  • Attention to detail, strong physical dexterity, and effective written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Process tissue specimens for pathology examination

  • Embed, section, stain, and mount slides according to laboratory protocols

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all laboratory work

  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in the laboratory

  • Collaborate with pathologists and lab staff to ensure timely specimen processing

Winter Holiday Requirements:
Travelers must work one major holiday (Christmas Day or New Year's Day) and one minor holiday (Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve).
