Position Overview:
The Director of Medical Services will supervise and mentor primary care providers (PCPs) at their designated center. This leader will be accountable for driving superior clinical quality, efficiency, patient outcomes, and overall satisfaction. In addition to overseeing clinical operations, this role includes direct patient care responsibilities, balancing leadership and clinical duties based on center needs and provider capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive care for patients with both acute and chronic illnesses, particularly in older adults.
- Take ownership of patient outcomes while coordinating effectively with specialists as necessary.
- Collaborate with hospitalists for patients admitted to hospitals, ensuring continuity of care.
- Manage patient assessments, diagnoses, treatments, health education, and care coordination.
- Lead a multidisciplinary care team, including medical assistants, facilitators, and coordinators.
- Engage with transitional care teams for patients unable to visit the office.
- Facilitate weekly care meetings and support center operations in leadership roles as needed.
- Actively participate in recruitment efforts for both patients and clinical staff.
Expectations:
Excellence in patient care is paramount. As the Director of Medical Services, you will ensure high-quality interactions that prioritize patient needs, integrating both evidence-based medicine and holistic approaches for improved health outcomes.
Requirements:
- MD or DO degree in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a similar specialty.
- Active medical license in your state.
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience in geriatrics or family practice preferred.
- Completion of ChenMed training programs as part of ongoing professional development.
- Board certification in a relevant specialty is preferred; board eligibility required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Current DEA registration for managing controlled substances.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is between $231,876 and $331,251.
