Join Leidos' Defense Systems Land Sensor Area as a Lead Software Developer in Simulation Engineering and become part of a dynamic team working on the simulation and analysis of missile defense ground-based radars.
You will collaborate with highly skilled engineers and analysts to enhance a real-time radar simulation product that serves critical roles in warfighter training, integrated missile defense exercises, and testing and development of tactical command and control algorithms. In this role, you will not only lead but also mentor both junior and senior software developers, working hand-in-hand with systems and radar engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a team lead for software developers, fostering collaboration with a diverse group of engineers.
Modernize and update existing simulation models and radar frameworks to align with the latest tactical system capabilities.
This position requires daily on-site work at customer facilities, emphasizing the importance of physical presence due to the nature of the simulated systems.
Represent Leidos with professionalism, technical acumen, and ethical standards while collaborating with customers and industry partners.
Basic Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related STEM field, along with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience.
Advanced degrees in Computer Science or Computer Engineering are welcomed and may substitute for some experience.
Extensive proficiency in C/C++ and Java programming languages.
Experience with issue tracking tools and Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines is required.
Candidates must be residents of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to this region.
A SECRET clearance is necessary, and the candidate must maintain it throughout employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong organizational skills and the ability to clearly document tasks for the team are highly desirable.
Experience with GitLab and Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines is preferable.
Ideal candidates have a background in integrated system simulation software and high-performance multithreaded software.
Experience in modeling and simulation software is a plus.
