Reports To: Director of Special Education

Job Purpose: To provide occupational services to elementary and secondary students.

Qualifications-Required:
Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy
NJ Occupational Therapist License
NJ DOE Occupational Therapist Certification
Valid NJ driver's license
Excellent integrity and demonstrates good moral character and initiative
Excellent organizational skills
Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, learning, assessment and diagnosis
Demonstrates an understanding of current rules and regulations regarding Child Study Teams and special education assessment and program requirements
Excellent interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and community
Able to serve as an itinerate, servicing students in multiple schools
Able to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing using proper grammar and vocabulary
Demonstrates the ability to use electronic equipment for word processing, data management, information retrieval, visual and audio presentations and telecommunications
Ability to pass the required Criminal History Review
Ability to submit Sexual Misconduct/Child Abuse Disclosure Form(s)

Experience working in schools

Duties/Responsibilities:
Develops IEP and 504 plans and delivers occupational therapy services based on student needs and evaluation results.
Evaluates student's ability.
Maintains clinical records in accordance with professional standards, state guidelines, school policy, and practice.
Reviews occupational therapy services for quality improvement and makes changes as needed to ensure quality services.
Interprets student evaluation data and writes comprehensive reports that reflect strengths and barriers to student's participation and occupational performance.
Determines the need for an occupational therapy evaluation and selects/administers appropriate assessment tools to evaluate student.
Drafts OT portions of the IEP.
Attends CST and 504 meetings as appropriate.
Enters data into State SEMI database.

Salary range of $61,959 (MA, Step 1) to $102,512 (DOC, Step 13)
