Occupational Therapist - Day Shift

Job Description

The Occupational Therapist plans, organizes, develops, administers, directs, and supervises occupational therapy treatment in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines. This role emphasizes patient and employee safety and the importance of collaboration within the interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients' level of functioning upon physician orders and plan appropriate treatment based on assessments.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team processes and discharge planning for each patient, including patient/family education and adaptive equipment.
  • Complete necessary documentation according to department policies and procedures, including daily progress notes and discharge plans.
  • Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and students, including assisting with new staff orientation.
  • Communicate with patients and families at their level of understanding, instilling confidence in team members, patients, and families.
  • Demonstrate safety techniques regarding patients, self, others, and equipment; promote a culture of safety within the workplace.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Must hold a valid, current state license.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in occupational therapy is required.
  • Previous inpatient rehab experience is preferred.
Schedule

This position is for a day shift working 5x8 hour shifts.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
