The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and modify manufacturing tooling, jigs, and fixtures.
- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of production tooling assets.
- Troubleshoot and resolve tooling-related issues to optimize production efficiency and product quality.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement tooling improvements and cost reductions.
- Manage external tooling suppliers, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and on-time delivery.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) by designing and validating new tools and processes.
- Maintain accurate documentation for tooling specifications, drawings, and maintenance records.
- Expertise in tool design principles for molds, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, stamping, CNC machining).
- Knowledge of various tooling materials, heat treatments, and surface finishes.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and optimize tooling performance and lifespan.
- Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) or mold flow simulation software.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification/experience.
- Proficiency in CAM software for tool path generation.
- Experience with additive manufacturing (3D printing) for tooling components or prototypes.
