At St. Agnes Hospital, we believe that healthcare is more than just a career; it’s a calling. We are currently seeking a dedicated PRN Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) to provide exceptional patient care in our respiratory therapy department.

Job Highlights:

  • 0.9 Night Shift Position
  • Three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Every third weekend rotation

Job Summary: As a Respiratory Care Practitioner, you will evaluate and treat patients requiring respiratory therapy. You will administer prescribed therapeutic services and develop comprehensive care plans tailored to each individual's diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients to determine appropriate treatment and develop individualized care plans.
  • Provide respiratory care according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
  • Monitor patient conditions, document progress, and communicate effectively within the care team.
  • Deliver advanced respiratory care modalities and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment.
  • Educate patients and families about respiratory health, community support, and available resources.
  • Maintain respiratory care equipment and manage departmental inventory and cleaning processes.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and rapid response situations promptly.
  • Uphold a safe and alert work environment at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

Education:

  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in a respiratory therapy setting.

Physical Requirements:

  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent lifting of objects weighing 0-25 lbs; occasional lifting of 25-50 lbs.
  • Capability to perform repetitive movements and assist with patient mobility.
  • Visual acuity for patient assessment and equipment monitoring.
  • Strong auditory skills for effective communication and safety monitoring.

Required Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - AHA
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - NBRC
  • State Licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin.
