Senior Software Engineer - PHP/Go

Join the Commerce team as a Senior Software Engineer - Backend supporting the Feedonomics Platform. This fully remote role sits on a cross?functional Backend Engineering team delivering core infrastructure components that power our high?performance, data?intensive SaaS platform.

What Youll Do
  • Collaborate on the architecture, design, and development of scalable and highly available applications and services.
  • Solve complex infrastructure?related problems with code, providing post?release support for scalable applications.
  • Identify and implement enhancements to DevOps practices and tooling, leveraging automation to streamline application development and deployment.
  • Drive technology design and articulate architecture solution options to product owners and Engineering leadership.
  • Conduct post?mortems to analyze and prevent repeat failures.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement in end?to?end infrastructure and systems.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies and processes that solve concrete business problems.
  • Become a domain expert who follows industry trends and applies best practices to contribute to continuous improvement of those practices.
Who You Are
  • 5+ years of programming experience in backend languages.
  • BS or higher degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 2+ years experience with PHP (Strongly preferred), Python, GoLang, Java or similar programming language.
  • 2+ years experience with MySQL or similar technology.
  • Strong understanding of database schema design, caching and scalability.
  • Strong understanding of various communication protocols (TCP, RPC, etc).
  • Strong understanding of Distributed Systems.
  • Experience in Caching technologies is a plus (e.g. Redis or Memcached).
  • DevOps experience preferred.
  • Experience with Full?stack observability tools like New Relic is strongly preferred.
  • Workable understanding of Linux operating systems; experience with modern CI/CD and containerization tools like Docker.
  • Ability to perform time and memory complexity analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Pay Transparency Range

The exact salary will be dependent on the successful candidates location, relevant knowledge, skills, and qualifications. (Pay Transparency Range: $112,000- $190,000)
