Responsibilities:
Strategic Bidding & Estimating
- Direct and oversee the creation of highly accurate and detailed cost estimates for complex civil construction projects from inception to completion.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and job walks to gain a full understanding of the job scope.
- Analyze historical production rates, material costs, and equipment utilization to develop informed and competitive bids.
- Develop and present compelling bid proposals to customers and key stakeholders.
- Play a key role in shaping the company's strategic direction and expansion.
- Lead the development and presentation of compelling big proposals.
- Collaborate with a team of highly skilled professionals dedicated to excellence and innovation.
- Provide expert leadership and management for all phases of assigned projects.
- Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Direct and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and project timelines.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and challenges
- Maintain exceptional communication with clients, engineers, and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of long-term strategic plans and business development initiatives.
- Identify and evaluate potential project opportunities and market trends.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, industry partners, and regulatory agencies to encourage growth and repeat business.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred but not required.
- Experience: A minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience in civil highway construction estimation and project management.
- Expertise:
- Demonstrated expertise in managing complex civil construction projects.
- Advanced knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and regulations.
- Mastery of estimating software and project management tools.
- Strong understanding of financial management and contract administration.
- Strong background in excel and estimating software
- Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, strong work ethic, and negotiation skills. Proven ability to analyze complex data and solve critical problems.
- Licensing: A valid professional engineering license is a strong plus.
