MRI Technologist Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Applied Science or Diploma in X-Ray (required)
• Graduate of an approved professional academic imaging program (required)
• ARRT Registered MRI Technologist certification (required upon hire)
• New York State registration or limited permit to practice as an MRI Technologist (required upon hire)
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (required upon hire)
• Minimum 1 year of experience as an MRI Technologist preferred
• Proficiency in MRI imaging techniques and clinical patient care
• Ability to deliver compassionate, age-appropriate healthcare support

MRI Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform advanced MRI procedures under supervision of Medical Director, Section Head, Manager, and Radiologist
• Provide clinical evaluation and support for patients in a hospital imaging setting
• Utilize MRI technology to produce high-quality diagnostic images, prioritizing patient safety and comfort
• Implement radiation safety protocols in compliance with New York State Department of Health regulations
• Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with MRI technology advancements
• Maintain compliance with hospital, department, and accrediting agency standards
• Foster a safe, positive, and supportive environment for all patients
