Department Description:
The Department of Respiratory Therapy is dedicated to providing exceptional respiratory care under the expert guidance of a Pulmonologist. Inpatient and emergency procedures are available, with outpatient testing offered at both Somerville and Everett campuses.
Job Purpose:
As a Polysomnography Technician, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive care through the administration and scoring of sleep studies and EEGs. You will be responsible for setting up and initiating various diagnostic modalities, including in-lab sleep studies, CPAP and Bi-Level Titrations, MSLT studies, and Home Sleep Testing. Additionally, you'll educate patients and their families about sleep disorders, diagnosis, and treatment options, as well as promote good sleep hygiene practices.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Successful completion of an accredited Sleep Technology educational program leading to a certificate or associate degree.
- One of the following credentials is required: Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), or Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) credential.
Certifications:
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification.
Previous Experience:
Preferred candidates will have at least one year of experience in polysomnography with pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
