TRC is seeking highly motivated and diverse Construction Management Interns for our Summer 2026 intern program out of our Augusta, ME Office. This is a paid full-time position. Anticipated duration will be from June through August 2026 (flexible). This position has the potential to transition into a Full-Time role upon graduation. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Project Managers and Team Leaders and partner with engineers, scientists, and technologists.

Responsibilities

Construction

  • Work is performed in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan (HASP) and OSHA standards.
  • Review and interpret plans, specifications, codes, shop drawings, submittals, and ensure compliance by contractor.
  • Review and interpret control measures and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Monitor complex construction schedules and ensure compliance to schedule of all subcontractors by performing weekly coordination meetings and three (3) weeks look ahead updates to ensure timely completion of the work.
  • Receive, inspect, and approve equipment/materials stored on and off site for payment as well as materials used in site construction against submittals and check and verify the installation of materials and equipment.
  • Manage changes in the work when requested by Owner and/or the Resident Engineer.
  • Aid in the preparation and execution of programs for testing materials and equipment and for the start-up of project systems.

Post-construction

  • Support close-out of all necessary documentation on project (Owner, Engineer, and Contract), including but not limited to:
  • Drawing/specification updates
  • Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Engineering/supplier submittals
  • Daily field reports
  • Meeting minutes
  • Change order requests
  • Testing instructions

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Pursuing Bachelor or Associate Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess solid technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Be self-motivated and detailed-oriented.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background checks.
  • Have a valid driver license and reliable transportation for travel to client sites.
  • Be willing to work overtime and travel out of town weekly.
  • Be able to lift at least 30 lbs.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
