Self-Direction DSP -North Syracuse Area (Job #MA-EK)
Looking for a dedicated and compassionate Mentor (1:1 support staff) to work with a very bright, funny, and kind young man with a developmental disability. In this critical role, you will help him in learning key independent living skills around his home, and teach skills to assist with accessing his community. The ideal candidate will have effective communication, great patience, and strong organizational and perseverance skills. The ideal candidate will also have experience working with OPWDD services.
Candidate must possess a keen sense of attention to detail, especially when electronically logging each day's time, mileage, and service documentation. Internet access and a valid email address are required.
Hours and days of work: Monday through Friday; times flexible during the day, up to 20 hours per week
Pay rate: $23 per hour
Location: North Syracuse, NY
Reliable transportation is required. Background check, fingerprinting, and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by non-profit agency. In addition to hourly compensation, employees of Advocates can qualify for comprehensive health, dental, and other benefits including paid time off.
