The Opportunity
We partner with manufacturers across Charlotte seeking Buyers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for raw materials and components.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors to optimize costs.
- Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of goods.
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts and minimize excess inventory.
- Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives for purchased items.
- Collaborate with engineering and production to ensure material specifications are met.
- Manage supplier performance, relationships, and resolve supply chain issues.
- Proven experience in purchasing/procurement within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for procurement processes.
- Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and Bills of Material (BOMs).
- Understanding of supply chain principles, logistics, and inventory management.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Demonstrated project management skills, particularly for new product introduction or supplier development.
- Experience in global sourcing and managing international supplier relationships.
- Technical background or strong aptitude for understanding complex engineering specifications.
