Your Responsibilities
  • Perform thorough patient evaluations, order necessary diagnostic tests, and develop tailor-made care plans
  • Diagnose and manage acute, chronic, or episodic health issues in partnership with physicians or independently, depending on your credentialing
  • Provide education to patients and their families regarding prevention strategies, wellness, and management of diseases
  • Prescribe appropriate medications and treatment modalities as permitted by your practice scope
  • Engage in patient follow-up and chronic care initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care
  • Maintain accurate documentation using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
Education & Licensure Requirements
  • Hold a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree
  • Have graduated from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Certifications Needed
  • Active Nurse Practitioner license in Texas
  • National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or equivalent specialty cert
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or plan to secure them within 90 days)
