Overseeing a 35-bed, Level I Trauma Center emergency department with roughly 60,000 annual visits, the Emergency Room Nurse Manger guides a dynamic, high-acuity team known for collaboration and professionalism. Night-shift resources include seasoned emergency physicians, trauma surgeons on call, exceptional ED techs, and specialized nurses, making this a prime platform to impact flow, safety, and patient experience.
Reporting to the Director of Emergency Services, the Emergency Room Nurse Manger will have charge nurses, assistant nurse managers, registered nurses, and others as direct and indirect reports. This leader partners closely with the ED Medical Director, Trauma Program leadership, Cath Lab, ICU and other departments to ensure seamless care and top-tier throughput in a high-volume environment.
The Emergency Room Nurse Manger provides visible off-shift leadership: coaching charge RNs, rounding with teams, and elevating competencies through evidence-based practice, simulation, and just-in-time education. Strong physician relations, associate engagement, and servant leadership are essential, and prior ED leadership experience as a Nursing Manager Emergency is highly valued.
