AI Core Machine Learning Research Scientist Intern

We are seeking dynamic Research Interns to join our Monetization Ranking & AI Foundations team, where our mission is to deliver the most personalized ads to users, optimizing for both user satisfaction and advertiser success. We focus on pioneering advances in artificial intelligence and machine learning that inform all facets of Monetization, such as ranking, retrieval, supply, model architecture, representation learning, optimization, and a thorough comprehension of user interactions with advertisements.

As a Research Intern, you will collaborate closely with researchers and engineers across various disciplines, driving cutting-edge research in AI and ML. You will have the chance to publish findings in prestigious journals and integrate revolutionary solutions at an unparalleled scale. Internships are available for varying durations of twelve to twenty-four weeks with flexible start dates throughout the year.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct innovative research to advance Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence technologies.
• Develop and implement novel algorithms and systems leveraging diverse AI and ML methodologies.
• Analyze and enhance the efficiency, scalability, and stability of deployed algorithms.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to communicate research plans, progress, and results.
• Publish research findings and contribute insights that can influence Meta's product development.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing or holds a PhD in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or relevant fields.
• Work authorization in the country of employment during the internship period.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Proficient in programming languages like Python, C++, C, Java, or similar.
• Experience in research and system development utilizing machine learning or deep learning techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Intent to return to your degree program post-internship.
• Demonstrated achievements in research evidenced by grants, publications, or patents in reputable conferences.
• Proven software engineering skills through internships, work experience, or contributions to open source.
• Strong analytical problem-solving abilities with a quantitative approach.
• Experience in managing and analyzing complex datasets for large-scale training.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills in a collaborative environment.
