Job Summary and Qualifications

The Electrophysiology Technician will be a vital part of the Cardiac Cath Lab team, assisting in the care of patients in the Electrophysiology Laboratory. You will demonstrate technical proficiency during Electrophysiology procedures while acting as both a Scrub Technician and Recorder, ensuring proper equipment setup, accurate monitoring, and quality data collection.

Requirements:

  1. Education: All the following:
    1. High School Graduate or G.E.D.
    2. New hires must have one of the following:
      • Two years full-time Invasive Cardiovascular Technology experience.
      • Associate Degree or equivalent college hours in health or natural sciences.
      • Graduate of an accredited Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program.
      • Graduate of a non-accredited program with specialty training and clinical hours.
  2. Experience: None required; preferred one year in Invasive Cardiovascular Technology.
  3. Licenses/Certifications: Must have one of the following:
    • RCIS, RCES, ARRT, RRT, or NREMT-Paramedic EMT certification.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Demonstrate technical proficiency in various Electrophysiology procedures including diagnostic studies and device implants.
  • Identify cardiac structures and advanced anatomy while assisting with data entry for accurate assessments.
  • Practice radiation safety following all regulatory requirements.
  • Report life-threatening arrhythmias accurately by assessing cardiac function.
  • Ensure procedural data is properly archived for long-term storage.
  • Assist in training new and existing staff members.

Additional Job Functions:

  • May assist with medication management as directed by licensed staff.
  • Participate in call rotations as assigned.
  • Support the mission and vision of the Healthcare System.
  • Comply with safety policies and report unsafe conditions.
  • Follow the Code of Conduct and ethical guidelines.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
