Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and driven Field Sales Account Manager to engage with our Post-Acute Care customers. This is a remote-based position, but candidates must reside within the coverage area of Mid and Southern New York.
As an Account Manager, you will serve as a trusted advisor for long-term care, home health, and hospice providers, aiding them in accessing our extensive portfolio of medical supplies and equipment. Your role will include identifying growth opportunities, nurturing existing relationships, and providing consultative solutions that enhance patient outcomes.

Compensation and Growth
McKesson promotes a Pay for Performance sales culture—your efforts directly influence your earnings. This role provides a competitive base salary of approximately $100,000, along with an initial sales incentive of $35,000, which serves as a foundation for all new representatives. With strong growth opportunities available in the Northeastern territory, successful representatives can increase total target cash compensation potentially to $150,000 and beyond within their first year.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and expand a portfolio of Post-Acute Care customers.
- Identify new business opportunities via prospecting and cold calling.
- Conduct business reviews and present consultative sales solutions.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver seamless customer support.
- Secure effective agreements and ensure proper product distribution.
- Partner with senior representatives or leadership for complex accounts.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- 4+ years of sales experience.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Critical Skills:
- Proven success selling to long-term care, home health, hospice, DME, or wound care providers.
- Strong skills in cold calling and prospecting.
- A track record of growing and retaining customer accounts.
- Demonstrated achievement of sales goals.
- Experience with consultative selling and business reviews.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in healthcare distribution.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Public speaking experience is a plus.
- Organized, self-motivated, and team-oriented.
- Ability to take initiative and a desire for professional growth.
Work Environment
- Home office setup with frequent travel (minimal overnight travel).
- Significant time spent on phone and computer-based tasks.
Education
- High School Diploma required.
- Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
