Physical Therapist Assistant

Contract Duration: 6 weeks
Role Overview
The Physical Therapist Assistant will support the Physical Therapist in providing rehabilitative care to residents in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting. The PTA will assist patients with mobility, strength, and functional activities to improve independence and overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and transfers.
- Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the supervising PT.
- Document daily treatments and patient responses in compliance with facility and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with occupational therapists, speech therapists, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safety techniques.
- Maintain adherence to professional, ethical, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in care planning and team meetings as needed.
- Active state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA).
- Experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation settings preferred.
- Strong clinical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to follow treatment plans and work independently.
- Commitment to providing patient-centered, high-quality care.
