The Central Dakota Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is accepting applications for the position of Transportation Specialist with an application deadline Wednesday, December 3rd 2025.

All Applicants will be required to take a Pre-Employment Exam. Please call Human Resources to schedule. Exam deadline is Friday, December 5th 2025 to be completed by 4:00pm.

Nature of Work

To provide specialized and administrative support for the Central Dakota Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). Work for this position is largely supportive in nature, performing tasks and

duties to further metropolitan area transportation planning programs and functions. Receives direction from the MPO Executive Director. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. Please read the attached job description for complete details.

Education, Experience, Other Requirements

  • Graduation from High School or a general degree (GED). Some college in urban or reginal planning, geography, public policy and administration, or related field is preferred.
  • Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually obtained by having has a similar position for two-to-three years.
  • Possession of a valid North Dakota driver's license.
Compensation and Benefits
  • The assigned salary range for the Transportation Specialist position is $22.57-$27.50 per hour.
  • This is a full time, FLSA non-exempt position eligible for overtime.
  • This is a fully benefitted position.
  • North Dakota Veteran's Preference Applicable under NDCC 37-19.1
