JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pipe/Underground/Utility Foreman to oversee and coordinate field operations on heavy civil construction projects involving underground utilities. The ideal candidate will lead a crew in the installation of water, sewer, storm drain, and other utility systems while ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and production goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in excavation and installation of underground utilities including storm drainage.
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to ensure proper installation and alignment.
- Plan daily activities, assign tasks to crew members, and ensure work is completed on schedule and to quality standards.
- Inspect work to ensure compliance with safety codes, specifications, and project standards.
- Maintain communication with project managers, engineers, and inspectors.
- Order materials, track inventory, and manage equipment needs.
- Promote and enforce safety protocols and ensure a clean, organized, and hazard-free jobsite.
- Maintain detailed and accurate daily reports including crew timesheets, progress updates, and materials usage.
- Train and mentor laborers and equipment operators to promote skill development and productivity.
- Identify potential issues and troubleshoot problems to keep the project on track.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in underground utility installation and heavy civil construction.
- Minimum 2 years of foreman or supervisory experience.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting civil construction drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and trench safety standards.
- Ability to operate or supervise the operation of heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, trenchers, and compactors.
- First Aid/CPR and OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
- Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.

- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (assistance recommended for heavier loads).
