MANAGER CREDIT CARD RISK

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Mgr Credit Card Risk position will manage the Account and Credit Line strategies for existing consumer and commercial card portfolios and will forecast and analyze credit card delinquency, roll rates and losses. This position will ensure all account and line management processes are optimized through complex analytics. The Credit Card Risk Manager position will develop credit risk modeling, and predictive credit risk modeling, scoring and analytics to support the credit risk, collections, fraud, sales and marketing functions.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • To enhance credit card portfolio performance, this position will analyze portfolio trends, credit score cutoffs, loss trends, portfolio dynamics, and bureau scoring criteria. Will develop more complex program models to extract data and use databases to provide statistical and financial modeling to minimize risk and reduce charge-offs. Understand data relevant to Line units and set strategies accordingly.

  • Assist in the development of a new consumer credit card program, which includes the No Pre-Set Spending Limit (NPSL) feature from Visa. Identify cardholders for upgrading and provide active account management.

  • Coordinate the production of performance reports for Sr. Management. Must be able to effectively communicate performance results, performance updates and key initiatives to senior risk management personnel.

  • This position will design, develop and implement account management strategies and will develop metrics and reporting to assess their effectiveness in order to reduce and optimize and the management of credit card charge-offs.

  • Responsible and accountable for appropriate quality controls related to the financial products the bank provides, the services the bank delivers, the processes employed and the incentives with which colleagues are awarded.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

  • 8 years of experience analyzing credit card portfolios

  • 6 years experience with SQL and relationship databases

  • Previous experience implementing Visa Signature NPSL program

Additional Qualifications

  • Masters degree and at least nine years of experience analyzing credit card portfolios preferred.

  • Extensive experience required in risk policy, analytic and segmentation/ targeting strategies using credit bureau and demographic data.

  • Strong Analytical and problem solving skills required. Experience in Credit Policy development, and risk management strategies is an added plus.

  • Extensive knowledge of SQL and relationship databases such as BRIO and Access. Knowledge of FIS and/or TSYS preferred. Computer literacy with MS Office software is critical.

  • Must be self-motivated, have strong interpersonal skills, good leadership skills, excellent project/process management and communication skills, and possess a results driven attitude committed to producing superior quality work product.

  • Must have strong organizational skills, have strong multitasking ability, an ability to learn and apply new skills quickly, and be able to work effectively in a collaborative working environment.

CompensationStarting base salary: $122,535 - $208,715 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
