ER RN Travel Job Details

• Location: Durham, NC 27710 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Facility Setting: Emergency Department, Level II Trauma Center
• Start Date: January 12, 2026
• End Date: April 13, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: May float to ED observation unit
• Scrubs: Royal Blue
• Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,780 - $1,910

ER RN Qualifications

• Current and active NC or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
• Level II Trauma nursing experience required; Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, CPI (TNCC preferred)
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system
• Supervisory reference within the last year required
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions or declinations accepted)

ER RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care to all ages in a fast-paced Emergency Room setting
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:4 in the ER
• Perform advanced clinical nursing skills: arterial line management, central line care, chest tube insertion/management, and blood product administration
• Respond to acute emergencies including psychosis, drug overdose, traumatic injuries, STEMI, stroke, and more
• Administer emergency medications and IV therapies
• Monitor and interpret arterial blood gases and cardiac dysrhythmias
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, interpretation services)
• Float to ED observation unit as needed
• Maintain compliance with all hospital and healthcare policies and procedures
