Mover / Packer

At Blue Kangaroo Packoutz of KCK, we service the entire Kansas City region. Our customers have typically experienced a catastrophe such as a fire, flood, or other serious situation in their home. We assist them by removing their property from the home, then inventory, clean, and store it in our warehouse until the home has been repaired and is ready to be moved back into.

We are searching for strong, part-time, individuals with an excellent work ethic to detail to assist us primarily with packing, loading, and moving the property. However, this is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to assist with many other tasks, including a promotion to management

Musts:

• Be strong and ready to work hard
• Be a good listener
• Have excellent customer service and communication skills
• Have a positive attitude
• Have a great attention to detail
• Be self-sufficient and not require constant supervision
• Have reliable transportation
• No serious offenses in criminal history (because we work inside our clients homes, stealing and violent crime convictions are automatic deal breakers)

Preferences:

• Individuals with moving/packing experience
• The ability to drive a box truck (with valid drivers license and insurance)
• The willingness to learn new tasks and take on additional responsibilities

This is a part-time position, and we will typically be able to give you 24-48 hours notice before a project begins. Our starting pay averages around $20 an hour, depending on experience. Worth more? Tell us why

Who We Hire

We look for individuals with skills such as truck driving, warehousing, sewing, woodworking, crafting, cleaning, and other restoration-related activities. We also know that not everyone comes to us with these skills. That's why we put each specialist-those with or without training-through an in-depth and comprehensive training program. Each Blue Kangaroo PACKOUTZ member learns the entire contents restoration process while honing in on their specific cleaning or restoration skills. It's all a part of our ongoing support and training experience.
